Dr. Paul Woo long-term care centre opens in Stouffville

Dr. Paul Woo long-term care centre opens in Stouffville

STOUFFVILLE, ONT. — The Ontario government is celebrating the opening of the new Mon Sheong Dr. Paul Woo Long-Term Care Centre that is adding 224 beds to the community.

The new centre is designed around seven “resident home areas” that create a familiar living space for up to 32 residents with their own dining and activity areas, lounges and bedrooms, states a release. It features therapy/activity rooms on each floor, a beauty salon, a multi-faith place of worship, palliative care programs and features a secure outdoor courtyard with pond views.

The new home is adjacent to the 320-bed  that opened in October 2021 and is part of a larger campus of senior living and services, located on Sandiford Drive.

Both homes will be joined by a third Mon Sheong long-term care home with 320 beds that is currently in the planning phase. This will create a total of 864 long-term care beds at this campus site once it’s completed.

This project was a recipient of the construction funding subsidy top-up.
