TORONTO – Waterfront Toronto’s new office located in the T3 Bayside mass timber building is an example of an evolved model for office design.

Located in the East Bayfront community and designed by WZMH Architects, the 14,400-square-foot space is meant to evoke inclusivity, sustainability and wellness, sates a release.

There are several types of workspaces, including open and private offices, phone booths, and meeting rooms, as well as a flexible gathering area for special events.

“The design maximizes views of Lake Ontario, with natural-toned finishes and sustainable materials highlighting the warmth of the exposed wood columns and ceilings,” the release adds. “Accessibility is a key focus, ensuring an enhanced user experience. Altogether, the space is welcoming, adaptable and connected to its natural surroundings on the waterfront.”

A retractable partition allows the main boardroom to open into the adjacent lounge and kitchen, transforming the space. There is a dedicated Indigenous meeting room inspired by the 13 moons and anchored by a custom piece by an Indigenous artist.

Integrated acoustic baffles — some formed in subtle wave-like patterns — introduce a quiet “water world” concept tied to the surrounding landscape, the release adds.

Guided by the Toronto Accessibility Design Guidelines, the workspace prioritizes barrier-free circulation, inclusive seating and clear visual and acoustic cues.
