CALGARY, ALTA. β The City of Calgary has laid out plans to finish replacing its fragile watermain.
Construction crews are set to start preparing sites in three areas of the city ahead of replacing the troubled Bearspaw South Feeder Main.
Crews will be onsite Friday.
The water line has ruptured twice in 18 months and has been described by Mayor Jeromy Farkas as “terminally ill.”
The project will add a steel pipe of the same size parallel to the existing line that will eventually put its older sister out of commission.
The main supplies 60 per cent of the city’s treated water.Β
