TORONTO – Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and the Ministry of the Solicitor General have prequalified three companies to design, build and finance one regional headquarters for part one of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Modernization Phase 3 Project.
The prequalified companies are:
- Amico Secure Ontario
- Bird Capital Limited Partnership
- Ledcor OPP
A Request for Proposals is expected to be issued in early 2026 to the companies.
Once submissions are received, IO and the ministry will evaluate the proposals, select a preferred company and then negotiate a final contract. The successful company is expected to be announced later in 2026.
This follows a Request for Qualifications process that began in May 2025.
According to a release, this is the third phase of the OPP modernization plan for its facilities.
In this phase, 12 new detachments and one regional headquarters will be constructed. These sites were determined based on priority needs of the OPP for the respective regions/catchment areas.
The new detachments will be located in:
- Ignace
- Niagara
- Bracebridge
- New Liskeard
- Kenora
- Lancaster
- Red Lake
- Sioux Lookout
- Killaloe
- Espanola/McKerrow
- Wawa
A new regional headquarters for the OPP’s northwest region will also be built in Thunder Bay.
