100. NL Adult Corrections Facility Replacement Project

The new 395-bed facility will enhance and expand the scope of correctional ser-vices currently provided by Her Majesty’s Penitentiary and the St. John’s lockup; include services for female residents as well as a Health Services Unit and ex-panded Resident Program and Recreation Services; and will include modern training and wellness space for support staff and correctional ofcers. In June 2025, ground was broken on East White Hills Road at the site of the new facility.

99. Route 138

The purpose of the Route 138 extension project is to link the Basse-Côte-Nord communities to-gether and with the rest of Québec. The work is carried out in an area featuring complex geographical, physical, and environmental conditions. Between Kegaska and Vieux-Fort, about 400 kilometres are not connected to route 138 and, consequently, to the rest of the province.

98. Cape Breton Regional Hospital Expansion

The project—a major component of the CBRM Healthcare Redevelopment Project—a new Clinical Services Building that will house a new, larger emergency department, critical care department, more inpatient beds, surgical suites, maternal/newborn services, and a cardiac catheterization lab, and a new Energy Centre. Construction is underway on the Energy Centre and Cape Breton Cancer Centre.

97. Faro Mine Remediation Project

Faro Mine is a former open-pit lead-zinc mine, one of the largest of its kind in the world at approximately 25 square kilometres. It is located in south-central Yukon on the traditional territory of the Kaska Nations, near the town of Faro. Abandoned in 1998, resource extraction led to 70 million tonnes of tailings and 320 million tonnes of waste rock. Care and maintenance work since then has helped to ensure water quality so that environmental standards are met. Active remediation is expected to begin in 2025 following the successful completion of the Yukon environmental and socio-economic assessment process, and receipt of a water licence from the Yukon Water Board. Remediation is expected to take about 15 years to complete, followed by ongoing testing, maintenance operations and monitoring to make any needed improvements to the site.

96. Bowmanville Extension Project

 The Bowmanville Extension will extend the Lakeshore East GO Line nearly 20 kilo-metres to Bowmanville and includes: new track and signal infrastructure; seven new bridges, including a new rail alignment over Highway 401; bridge reconstruc-tion and existing bridge modications; utility relocations; and at-grade crossing upgrades. In 2024, GO Transit announced that works would begin on the future Ritson Road GO Train station.

95. Route 389 Improvement Program

Route 389 connects the town of Baie-Comeau and the border of Newfoundland and Labrador over a distance of 570 kilometres. The program is divided into ve separate projects carried out in parallel: Project A—from Fire Lake to Fermont; Project B—from Baie-Comeau to Manic-2; Project C—north of Manic-5, from kilometre 240 to kilometre 254; Project D—from Manic-2 to the north of Manic-3; and Project E—from north of Manic-3 to Manic-.

94. SRB Pie-IX BRT

The Pie-IX BRT is a leading, high-performance public transit project, integrating the rehabilitation of municipal infrastructures and the reconstruction of Pie-IX Boulevard. It is also a public transit infrastructure spread across 13 kilometres, between Saint-Martin Boulevard in Laval and Notre-Dame East street, including 44 BRT bus shelters and bus priority lights in real time. In February 2024, the project launched the next phase of work to extend the Pie-IX BRT between Pierre-De Coubertin Avenue and Notre-Dame Street East.

93. CANXPORT

The project will consist of a 108-acre greeneld development on Ridley Island that will commence operation in Q3 2026. Ray-Mont Logistics will develop and operate facilities that provide trans-loading service capacity for 400,000 TEUs (20-foot equivalent units) for agricultural, forestry, and plastic resin products. The project will also include an expansion of the existing Ridley Island Road Rail Utility Corridor that will facilitate unit trains 10,000 feet in length.

92. Carillon Generating Station Refurbishment Project

Hydro-Québec will refurbish its Carillon generat-ing station, mainly to replace six generating units. Carillon generating station is a run-of-river power plant consisting of 14 generating units with a total installed capacity of 753 MW. Built in the early 1960s, it is a key part of Hydro-Québec’s hydroe-lectric generating eet. The station is close to the greater Montréal area and feeds power into the grid during peak consumption periods.

91. Ontario Public Safety Radio Network

 The project aims to renew a radio network used by 38,000 frontline and emergency responders over 750,000 square kilometres. The contract to build the system’s land mobile radio network, which includes core infrastructure, support antennas, servers, and data centre equipment, was awarded to Bell Mobility Radio. It will also provide rst responders, as well as their dispatchers, with new radio equipment and consoles and provide network and radio equipment maintenance services for 15 years.

90. Sir Robert Peel Centre Redevelopment

The Sir Robert Peel Centre, located at 7750 Hurontario Street, is undergoing a multi-phased redevelopment, that will include two multi-storey facilities and an above ground parking garage. Phase 1 of the redevelopment will include specialized spaces for Forensic Identification Services, Detainee Processing, Quartermaster Stores and Records Information Management, administrative spaces, along with upgraded site access and secure parking. Phase 2 of the redevelopment will include a new 22 Division and a new Corporate Development, together with additional secure parking accommodations.

89. Deerfoot Trail Improvements

Improvements at the Ivor Strong Bridge, Anderson Road & Bow Bottom Trail, Southland Drive, and Glenmore Trail are being delivered through one De-sign-Build contract. During a Design-Build, the project is designed and constructed concurrently. This allows a project to be delivered in a shorter period and provides the contractor with more opportunity to be innovative to meet the requirements of the contract. Improvements at 64 Avenue NE (completed Fall 2023), Beddington Trail NW & 11 Street NE, McKnight Boulevard NE, and 16 Avenue NE are being delivered through four separate Design-Bid-Build contracts. During a Design-Bid-Build, the project is fully designed, then bid, then constructed.

88. Advanced Nuclear Materials Research Centre

The Advanced Nuclear Materials Research Centre (ANMRC) will be a state-of-the-art nuclear research facility. The 10,000-square-metre ANMRC is expected to be critical to the life extension and long-term reliability of existing reactors, including Canada’s eet of CANDU reactors and other designs deployed around the world. Construction of the new laboratory research complex is being managed via an integrated project delivery (IPD) agreement.

87. CFB Trenton — Main Operating Base

The Department of National Defence is moving forward with signicant upgrades and additional infrastructure for the Main Operating Base (MOB—East at CFB Trenton, that will support the Strategic Tanker Transport Capability (STTC) project. These critical infrastructure upgrades will support the arrival and long-term operation of up to seven CC-330 Husky aircraft at CFB Trenton. This rst phase of construction, expected to continue into 2026, includes resurfacing the existing runway, aprons and taxiways. Preparations are also underway for the construction of a new two-bay hangar, training facility, fuel depot, and ramp extension.

86. Aspen Power Station

The new natural gas power facility will use combined-cycle technology to provide up to 370 megawatts (MW) of power. Including design and procurement, the project, which began construction in the spring of 2024, is now nearing the halfway point. As of Nov. 2025, $558 million has been committed to 189 Saskatchewan businesses through the project, including $263.5 million to 21 Indigenous-owned businesses and $29.5 million to nine women-owned businesses.

85. Olympic Stadium Roof Replacement

The goal of the project is to restore this Quebec landmark to its full potential and thus generate more economic benets for Quebec with the deployment of an ambitious business plan. In order to restore the Olympic stadium to full functionality and to maintain the distinctive character for which it is renowned, the new roof will be xed, rigid and will include a trans-parent glass hoop. The project will be done in three phases: Phase 1 (2024)—dismantling the roof; Phase 2 (2025)—dismantling and construction of the technical ring; and Phase 3 (2026-2027)—manufacture, assem-bly and installation of the roof.

84. Gaspésie Railway Rehabilitation Project

The railway rehabilitation project aims to promote the resumption of passenger and freight transport service between Matapédia and Gaspé, including the rehabilitation or reconstruction of network infrastruc-ture; stabilization of sites presenting risks for the railway due to the instability of rock cliffs or coastal erosion; and upgrading of tracks through asset mainte-nance works. The project was split into three sections to facilitate its completion, namely from Matapédia to Caplan (126 kms), from Caplan to Port-Daniel–Gas-cons (72 kms) and from Port-Daniel–Gascons to Gaspé (127 kms).

83. Route 185 Phase III

Phase III of the project, 40-kilometre long from Saint-Antonin to Saint-Louis-du-Ha! Ha!, has been under construction since 2018. This is the nal stage, which will complete the construction of Highway 85. This phase of work is divided into seven sections, which have been gradually being commissioned since fall 2021 and will continue until 2026. Phase I of the construction of Highway 85 was completed in 2011. The work was divided into four sections totaling 21 kilometres.

82. Prince Albert Victoria Hospital

 The Prince Albert Victoria Hospital project includes design and construction of a new acute care tower connected to, and directly north of the existing facility. The new tower features a heliport on the roof, an expanded emergency department, larger operating rooms, pediatrics, maternity, NICU, new medical imaging, and a First Nations and Métis Cultural space, among other key services. Overall capacity at Victoria Hospital, between the new tower and existing facility, will increase 40 per cent, from 173 to 242 beds.

81. Autoroute 19 Extension

The extension of Highway 19 consists of building a two-carriageway urban highway with three lanes in each direction between Saint-Martin East Boulevard in Laval and Industriel Boulevard in Bois-des-Filion. Located on the current axis of Highway 335, the project extends 11.8 kilometres. The work is being carried out in six separate lots. The project includes: the construction of four new interchanges; the redevelopment of the interchange of Highway 640 and Route 335, the construction of a new bridge located east of the Athanase-David bridge, over the Mille Îles River; the renovation of the current Athanase-David bridge; the installation of noise barriers in various areas located near the urban highway; the redevelopment and extension of the multi-purpose path for pedestrians, cyclists and off-road vehicle users; and the reconguration of the service roads at the level of highways 440 and 19.

80. John Hart Dam Seismic Upgrade Project

Built in the 1940s, the John Hart Dam is about 32 metres tall and more than 800 metres long. The project work will include upgrades to the earthll and concrete sections of the dam; creating an overow spillway under the road deck near the spillway; and re-placing the three spillway gates and related works.

79. Giant Mine Remediation Project

Between 1948 and 2004, operations at the Giant Mine site grew to encompass roughly 900 hectares, including several ponds and small lakes. In 1999, the former operator entered receivership and the Govern-ment of Canada, and the Government of Northwest Territories became responsible for the site. Mining opera-tions continued until 2004. Several environmental and site remediation needs were identied. This included cleaning up the 237,000 tonnes of arsenic trioxide dust left behind in underground chambers and 16 million tonnes of tailings, open pits, debris, and site infrastructure. Today, the project’s goals are to: minimize public health and safety risks; minimize the release of contaminants from the site to the surrounding environment; remediate the site in a manner that instills public condence; and implement a remediation approach that is cost-effective and robust.

78. Port of Montreal Contrecoeur Terminal

In September 2025, the Montreal Port Authority (MPA) and DP World in Canada (a joint venture between DP World and La Caisse) entered into a Joint Development Agreement for the design of the land-based works of the future container terminal. Under the agreement, the MPA and DP World’s Canadian operations will nalize the terminal’s design as well as the terms of the construction and operating contract, which will take effect with the start of land works. The Contrecœur expansion project is based on a hybrid approach, with in-water works are overseen by the MPA and have been planned in collaboration with CTCGP, using a collab-orative design-build approach. Land works and operations will be under the responsibility of DP World, which will lead the construction of the terminal (container yard, buildings, utilities, and rail connection) and ensure its operation and maintenance for the next 40 years.

77. GO Kitchener Extension

To enable two-way, all-day service on the Kitchener Line from Union Station to Kitchener GO Station improvements will be made along the rail corridor and to some existing stations on the Kitchener GO Line. A key package of work between Georgetown and Kitchener was completed in 2024, including: a 2.6 km passing track in Breslau; a new second platform at Guelph Central GO Station; and the new storage track for maintenance vehicles west of Guelph.

76. TerraCanada National Capital Area

The TerraCanada Science and Innovation hub will energize collaboration by establishing a multi-partner network with facilities in the NCA and other regions across the country, including the recently opened labo-ratories in Mississauga and Hamilton. Design began in 2024, with site preparation and construction starting in 2026. The facility will house approximately 450 em-ployees and scientists from Natural Resources Canada and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission.
