EDMONTON – The Transportation Safety Board says it’s sending a team of investigators to Alberta after 37 train cars went off the tracks west of Edmonton.
The derailment happened Thursday near the hamlet of Wildwood, about 110 kilometres west of the Alberta capital.
Canadian National Railway spokesperson Ashley Michnowski says early reports suggest 37 loaded cars went off the tracks.
It’s not known what the train cars were carrying at the time.
Michnowski says there have been no reported leaks of dangerous goods, fires, injuries or impacts on the public.
A notice from the Transportation Safety Board of Canada says investigators will assess what happened.
